But they knew what they wanted to do, offer professional mobile car detailing services to nearby customers. So, we had to develop a comprehensive, top-to-bottom strategy to ensure their success and generate enough leads to sustain the business.
The Solution: A Top-to-Bottom Marketing Strategy for Lead Generation
Our first priority was to establish Detaild's brand visibility and attract initial clients. We created a branding strategy to ensure a uniform appearance and consistency across all marketing materials, laying the groundwork for the website and other promotional content. With the branding in place, we began building both their digital and physical presence from the ground up.

Essentially, the pricing adjusts based on the vehicle size, whether it's a large SUV or a small two-door coupe, because the time required for the service varies. This custom online booking tool, which we now call "Shop Tweak", has evolved over time into a comprehensive software solution that is now central to their daily operations. It provides Detaild with 24/7 online booking capabilities, enabling customers to schedule services at their convenience from anywhere, at any time. This eliminates confusing pricing structures, removes the limitation of booking appointments only during business hours, and offers greater flexibility for their customers.
Developing a Custom CRM to Streamline Detaild's Business
Additionally, Shop Tweak functions as a comprehensive CRM system featuring detailed customer profiles, staff management, and payroll functionalities. The system automatically syncs appointments scheduled via the website into the backend dashboard, where the Detaild team can manage them with ease.
We've essentially developed an all-in-one solution designed to streamline Detaild's operations. By simplifying the booking experience for both Detaild's team and their customers, we eliminated friction from the typical user journey. This improvement led to higher conversion rates and enabled the team to handle bookings more efficiently.
The appointment scheduling software is packed with too many features to cover in this case study. However, the bottom line is that it has been a driving factor in the success of this project.
Implementing Local SEO Strategies
The next step in our web development process involved implementing local SEO strategies to enhance Detaild's online presence in local search results. We developed SEO-optimized landing pages for each of their offerings. This made it easier for potential customers to learn about the detailing services they provided and ensured that these pages ranked for relevant keywords in the SERPs.
We also created location-specific landing pages for every area Detaild served, driving traffic from multiple regions and increasing overall visibility. Each page was optimized for high-intent keywords to target specific local search queries, such as "car detailing Uxbridge". Additionally, we enhanced their local SEO by optimizing their Google Business Profile and listing them in relevant directories.
Using Branded Gift Boxes to Drive Referrals and Loyalty
As the new business on the block, we aimed to differentiate Detaild from the competitors. Understanding the importance of tangible touchpoints, we curated a gift box for customers. Our goal was to create something memorable that would foster loyalty and help them remember the business.

We instructed their team to give the branded box to each customer after the service, which not only set Detaild apart from hobbyist side hustles but also reinforced its image as a professional, customer-focused business. The boxes were strategically designed to achieve several key goals:

Boost word-of-mouth referrals through a $25 coupon designed as a "to" and "from" card, allowing customers to share it with someone they know.
Provide practical, branded items like lanyards, embroidered keychains, and stickers, which customers could use or share to spread brand awareness (I still use the keychain to this day).
Include business cards to make it easy for customers to reconnect in the future.
The inclusion of these tangible assets increased customer appreciation, led to more tips, generated more word-of-mouth referrals, and enhanced the overall customer experience with Detaild.
Using Paid Advertising to Generate Qualified Leads
Since the SEO campaign focused on longer-term results, we needed to quickly build brand awareness in the short term, as the business was still unknown to the public. To achieve this, we launched a digital marketing strategy focused on targeted paid media campaigns, particularly Facebook ads, to increase visibility and engagement.
Through continuous testing and optimization of various ad copies and creatives, we identified a winning set of ads that we could scale. These ads resulted in an average Cost Per Lead (CPL) of $4.59. Despite the company's limited budget, we generated around six leads per day with an average daily spend of just $27. Over the 84-day campaign, this approach produced a total of 496 leads.
Creating Physical Marketing Assets to Drive Awareness
Given that this was a mobile detailing business, our target audience consisted of vehicle owners who preferred paying for cleaning services over doing it themselves, often skewing towards an older demographic. We realized that a significant portion of Detaild's potential customers were not active on social media, so Facebook ads would only go so far.
To address this, we developed a physical marketing strategy. We designed custom flyers, door hangers, business cards, employee merchandise, and other branded assets to increase visibility and reach a wider audience. To track the success of the door hangers and flyers, we implemented UTM tracking, with each featuring a unique QR code. This allowed us to measure scans and conversions, helping us evaluate and adjust the campaign as needed.
